The core tool for managing and controlling our "Keep IT Green" solutions

TA Studio includes purpose-specific, methodical extensions of eggplant functionality (e.g. enhanced programming and parameter management). This method represents a functional extension of native eggplant scripting and leads to high reusability and variability of the test scripts.

Core elements of TA Studio are a relational database as repository, and a GUI (TA Studio interface), which communicate with the eggplant modules (see figure).

Components of TA Studio

TA Studio GUI: TA Studio provides a management interface used to call available test management objects and adjust the configuration of test execution.

User administration allows all those involved to be assigned to their projects. Different tests can be created and configured in each project. All project-relevant information can be edited and adapted to current needs in a dedicated area.

Parameter management: Parameter management is the central element for managing parameters that functionally adapts the test to the customer`s environment, and also influences test execution. All relevant parameters can be edited, added and removed in this module.

Enhanced Egglant Programming libraries: EEP libraries are multiple usable extensions and simplifications for script creation with eggplant. Besides already implemented standard functionality, parameter handling is provided that allows scripts to map complex operations and checks that accelerate and improve the creation of tests.

KIG repository: The KIG repository is the backbone of TA Studio. It is based on a relational database that manages all relevant information, from test parameters and test results to the  hardware and software details of all test clients (SUT). The KIG repository allocates data for the tests and is the basis for reports, statistics, and analyses for evaluation purposes.

SUT hardware and software data extraction: TA Studio obtains relevant hardware & software information about an SUT (system under test, i.e. the actual test machine) in order to be able to establish a link between performed tests and system information from the SUT. These data allow a dedicated release of end devices with a specified hardware & software configuration. The test results and their associated SUT data are available in an audit-proof form.

Project management: TA Studio includes an administrative interface to clearly separate projects and test sets that allows all participants to be assigned to their projects. Different tests can be created and configured in each project. All project-relevant information can be edited and adapted to current needs in a dedicated area.
